Boyertown YMCA Hosts

Special Olympics Swim Team for

Inclusive Training and Competition

The Boyertown YMCA hosts a Special Olympics Swim Team for children and teens (ages 8+) with special needs. Open to both members and non-members, this program provides an inclusive space for participants to engage in organized swimming and compete. Practices take place weekly on Wednesday nights from October to April at the Boyertown YMCA. For more information or to get involved, participants can contact the team coordinator, Jodi.

Experience 1940s Troop Train Reenactment with Museum Visits and Dining Options

Step back in time with a 1940s troop train reenactment, featuring visits to the Boyertown Museum of Historic Vehicles and the General Carl Spaatz National USAAF Museum. Enjoy a meal in Dining Class, first-class perks with a champagne toast, or light fare in Coach. Special military vehicles will be on display, and the experience offers a unique look at how troops traveled during WWII. The trip operates rain or shine, though some accommodations are limited.

🧙 Maggie Smith, Beloved Star of Harry Potter and Downton Abbey, Dies at 89

Dame Maggie Smith, the legendary British actress, has died at age 89. With a career that spanned over seven decades, Smith won numerous prestigious awards, including two Oscars, a Tony, and several Emmys. She was best known for her roles in Downton Abbey and Harry Potter. In addition to her professional success, she battled Graves' disease and breast cancer during her life. Smith is survived by her two sons and five grandchildren.
