Tragic Motorcycle Accident Claims Life of 27-Year-Old Boyertown Man on Old Route 100

A 27-year-old motorcyclist from Boyertown was tragically killed in a single-vehicle accident on Sept. 20 in Washington Township, Berks County, according to the coroner’s office. The rider, identified as Brandon T. Bitler, was pronounced dead at 10:32 p.m. after the crash.

Bitler had been traveling south on Old Route 100 near Oberholtzer Road around 8:41 p.m. when he lost control of his motorcycle while navigating a curve. The bike veered off the road, struck a ditch, and Bitler was thrown from the vehicle.

Emergency crews from Eastern Berks Fire Department and Bally Ambulance responded to the scene and found him unresponsive. Despite their efforts, Bitler succumbed to multiple injuries, and his death was later ruled accidental by the authorities.

Tampa Bay and Philadelphia Set for Showdown as Eagles Look to Avenge Postseason Exit

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are preparing for a highly anticipated matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles at Raymond James Stadium, expecting the Eagles to bring added motivation after last season's playoff elimination. The Buccaneers, who knocked the Eagles out of the postseason for the second time in three years, understand the intensity of facing a team with revenge on their mind—similar to how they approached their Week 2 win over the Lions after being eliminated by Detroit last year.

Buccaneers cornerback Zyon McCollum likened the upcoming game to their rematch against the Lions, pointing out the familiarity between the two teams. Despite new offensive and defensive coordinators in Philadelphia, McCollum emphasized that both teams know each other well after having met four times in the past three seasons. Adding an interesting twist, McCollum’s twin brother, Tristin, plays safety for the Eagles.

Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has struggled against Tampa Bay, posting a 1-3 record, with his only win coming in Week 3 of last season. Hurts reflected on the changes in both teams since their last meeting, noting that each game has had a different feel due to evolving personnel and strategies.

The Eagles are heading into the game after a narrow 15-12 win against the Saints, while the Buccaneers hope to bounce back from a 26-7 loss to the Denver Broncos.
